POSITION DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB TASKS

1. 40%

Maintain consistent stock of inventory for the purpose of assuring the installation/repair process can be performed in a timely manner. Tasks may include fill and process equipment requisitions; order stock, establish and maintain back up source for high demand items; work with Purchasing Dept; fill contractor orders, communicate with all regarding new equipment and stock location; coordinate transfers of stock; provide Engineering and Network Operations materials needed for plant and special work order projects; assess inventory reports and order patterns; investigate inventory quantity discrepancies; complete year-end inventory; and maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse. Monitored by the Installation/Repair Supervisor through reports and regular verbal and written communication.

 

2. 25%

Process company equipment and returns for the purpose of maintaining consistent and accurate counts of functioning equipment. Tasks may include receive deliveries; unload deliveries; operate forklift; verify deliveries; return STB to stock; re-set STB for re-use; file RMAs on warrantied equipment; remove obsolete/damaged STBs and other equipment from stock; prepare items for shipping; process other returns and organize electronic parts for recycling. Monitored by the Installation/Repair Supervisor through direct observation.

 

3. 20%

Perform documentation and reporting of inventory levels for the purpose of identifying future needs. Tasks may include update and maintain financial inventory reports; utilize Elations Financials software; CPR records/work orders; outside plant records and year end reports; MSAG corrections; ensure accuracy for new or changed addressing; ensure records are reported accurately for 911; keep/update accurate census records; assemble data for subscriber analysis studies; maintain forklift usage log; record footage used of cable, fiber and duct; process purchase order receipts; file MPSC quarterly reports for facility damage; update safety data sheets; and other documentation/reporting as requested. Monitored by the Installation/Repair Supervisor through direct observation and reports.

 

4. 15%

Provide support to the Installation/Repair Supervisors for the purpose of ensuring installs and repairs occur as scheduled. Tasks may include communication with technicians; adjust schedule; contact customers about schedule; assist with scheduling inspections; maintain stock of office supplies and order; and provide support to other departments as needed. Monitored by the Installation/Repair Supervisor via direct observation and departmental feedback.

 

(Continually looks for new and improved ways of completing the above functions. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor will be performed in order to address unexpected situations or needs that may arise.)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position includes full responsibility and accountability to the Installation/Repair Supervisor. Position requires effective communication and problem solving with a team. Must demonstrate diplomacy/professionalism with AcenTek employees, customers, vendors, and contractors.

LATITUDE:

Most duties are assigned then performer plans and arranges task in order to complete duties. Problem solving is accomplished in conjunction with supervisor. Some decisions not effecting other departments can be made independently. All purchase requests are referred to the Supervisor.

IMPACT OF POSITION:

Errors are easily detected and would result in minor clerical expense for correction.

CUSTOMER SERVICE/INTERACTION:

Daily phone, email, and personal contact with employees in all departments.

Occasional phone, email and personal contact with customers, vendors and contractors.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

Prefer 1 or more years’ experience with inventory/warehousing.

Prefer 1-2 years’ experience with Microsoft Office.
