Network Operations Specialist

SUMMARY

Provide level 3 and level 4 network operations support to Acentek employees and customers. This support includes but not limited to Acentek’s ISP Broadband, WAN, Metro Ethernet, VLAN, LAN, IP, DSL, WI-FI, VoIP, IP Video, Application Servers, Fiber Optic Ring, DWDM, Internet, and Intranet.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and design Acentek's technology services with input from other departments as appropriate.
  • Provide Tier 3/4 network operations support to internal Acentek technicians and Acentek customers by maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting Acentek's technology services.
  • Develop and maintain plans and procedures to ensure safety, security, reliability, and back-up systems of Acentek’s technology services.
  • Maintain detailed documentation relating to design infrastructure, standards, licensing, copyright agreements, and service/maintenance arrangements, and ensure internal and external compliance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent and one or more of the following CCNA, CCDA CCNP, CCVP, CCSP, MCSE or equivalent. Minimum of three years experience with ISP network with implementation, maintenance, and administration of IP, IP Video, VoIP, DSL, Broadband, Network Security, Wi-Fi, Fiber Optics, DWDM, and ISP Application Servers. Must have analytical problem solving skills and good communication skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking or related area, previous ISP network experience with implementation, maintenance, and administration of IP, IP Video, VoIP, DSL, Broadband, Network Security, Wi-Fi, Fiber Optics, DWDM, and ISP Application Servers. Must have analytical problem solving skills and good communication skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A valid driver's license. One or more of the following certifications: CCNA, CCDA CCNP, CCVP, CCSP, MCSE, or equivalent.
